Create a Good Looking Vegetable Garden

Most vegetable gardens do not get the adornment that they deserve or that their flowery counterparts enjoy. Detailed thought and planning often goes into the garden and lawn upfront while the kitchen patch is tucked away into some 'yardy' space at the back. This article will walk you through the finer points of making your garden beautiful and one of the focal points of your yard.

This can be changed and a good spot would be a sunny one at the end of your lot in clear view of the driveway. The patio at the back can also lead via a fancy, stone path, through an elaborate arch, into the garden where your veggies grow.

Using sections of picket fences or low trellised walls to cordon off the vegetable garden would be decorative as well as functional. Creeper roses or other flowering vines could drape these structures and taller plants like hibiscus could act as sentries. Majestic trees, that do not rob the patch of vital sunshine, could also be planted at both corners to give an effective backdrop to healthy greats like zucchini, pumpkin, okra, artichoke, tomatoes and the ever-present herb boxes.
